Sitting with the Heaters on

So yesterday I took myself of for my usual walk around, looking at the streets and looking for potential housing, having left the hotel with my denim jacket on I soon peeled it off as the sun was really quite toasty, the locals already shake their heads at My Crazy Beloved with his short sleeves and shorts, now they just raise their eyes to the ceiling when they see me. Having walked to the Horev centre I took a coffee stop at one of the Cafe bars and sat outside, now the temperature was around 16 degrees and really quite nice, there was a slight breeze coming up the mountain, but all in all really rather nice. The heaters were on at the Cafe! that must be for the locals, this weather is just like a Scottish summer for us. In fact having lived in Scotland longer than I did in my Home country of England, I would have been chuffed if every summer day started like this. I decided I better put my jacket back on as I couldn't decide if the burning sensation on my neck was from the sun or the heater, best not take any chances

I have decided I need to learn to read Hebrew, it's a nightmare when you can't read signs, I don't mean street signs they are easy, and come in three languages, but posters, and restaurants and shop signs, oh me, me, I really need to learn.

So 12 pm arrived and I met with Asef, the apartment we looked at was owned by a family who like us are moving to another country, the house was not for us, mainly because is was too small and not my style, so Asef and I went in his car to another apartment, unfortunately this apartment had been the home of an old gentleman who has now been taken into a care home, the fact that the hoist was still attached to the bedroom ceiling was a touch disconcerting, but the gentleman Arran who met us and showed us around was very nice and his English impeccable. Later in the afternoon I received another call from Natalie saying there is another apartment in Western Carmel, so TAXI and once again I met Asef there and we were shown around another apartment, this time by the owner, it was a nicer apartment, but boy was it dark, where it sits in the valley I don't imagine the sun would ever reach it. So Asef drove me back up the Mountain, he had explained to me that Natalie had forbidden him to drive me in his car because it was messy!! But I promised not to tell her and he assured me his home was very clean. So having a wicked sense of humour I told Natalie, nope- I have been told to tell you I wasn't in your car.......

Even Natalie admitted that the drivers here are crazy, apparently it depends on what mood they get out of bed as too how much they toot their horns at people. I have yet to understand the point in tooting when the whole line of traffic in front of you is not moving because of something that is happening 20 cars in front, you cant see it, why toot. But this is the Israeli way according to Natalie, she has also told me I have to become more Israeli, this means I have to stop being so nice to people, but please and thank you are part of who I am, and if you spoke with my little Brother he definitely wouldn't say I was polite and most definitely not nice.

When My Beloved arrived back at the hotel, we decided on a quiet evening, and no gym, I now have what I think is another ear infection, so jumping up and down was the last thing I wanted to do, we ate at Barbarossa just along from the hotel, having ordered the Medallions of Beef with no tatties, and loads of green beans, Im getting better at getting them from fork to the mouth without them hanging un-ladylike from my mouth.  We were offered and refused Van Gough Double Espresso, now Im not talking coffee in the true sense of the word, I'm talking Vodka Double Espresso liqueur, and it is lush, but we declined.  We also declined the dessert menu, and asked for the check, the check arrived with two shot glasses, one each filled with Ice Cream with chocolate sauce underneath, compliments of the house.  This eating out is becoming dangerous for my health, it would have been rude not to eat the ice cream, so we didn't like to be rude! But god help me my waistline will be wider than my hips if this keeps up.

My Beloved had a meeting with a gentleman from Alford when we got back, I amused myself by facetiming with Lou Lou, checking the mail that she had received for us, and then catching up on the facebook pages until My Beloved was finished, early night for me, my ear is not making me feel the best just now, and I'm hoping to get some medication for it sometime soon.
