Passover

This morning was an early start once again with the Beloved who needed out of the gate and only having one key meant I had to let him out, the Little Princes slept till nine when I decided that it was time to get up, Yabba made the lemonade today all by herself, and I was the supervisor.

We eventually got Kitty out of her bed around 9.30 and threw her in the shower, then we headed off to Cinemal, Kitty was after the bag she had seen previously, we had a great day shopping for clothes, the girls are great to shop with, we had lunch at Cafecafe so good they named it twice, snitzel, pizza and a granita for me, then we headed back to Wedgewood for some sun in the garden, man was it hot, the Little Princes didnt last long before they headed for shade, me I was soaking up the rays.

My Beloved arrived home late afternoon and we took a stroll up to the Carmel centre, because of Passover all the shops except the sweet shop were shut, so we grabbed ice cream from the freezers and took a leisurely stroll back home.

We puddled around the house until it was time to get ready for our evening at Natalie's Mothers, showers done we took our Kosher wine and flowers and headed to the other side of Carmel centre, being British we were the first one's there, I think it had more to do with being first to the table and the food than being British.

We witnessed an amazing evening of readings and food, we each took a turn to read passages from the Passover Haggadah, Yabba was amazing and read two passages the first of which was

"And our sorrow, this denotes the destruction of the male children, as it is said. "Every son that is born, ye shall cast into the river, but every daughter ye shall save alive" And our oppression: this denotes the severity employed as it is said. " And I have also seen the oppression  where with the Egyptians oppress them". And the Lord bought us forth from Egypt, with a strong hand and with an outstretched hand with great terror, and with signs of wonders.

How very apt for our baby girl to read this passage.

She was amazing and spoke beautifully, Natalie was so pleased that she read from the Passover Haggadah, and everyone loved her Scottish Accent. We had a lovely evening with friends and were made to feel very welcome, Natalie's family are lovely people and we learned a great deal about tradition and family today.

The Haggadah is a Jewish text that sets forth the order of the Passover Seder. Reading the Haggadah at the Seder table is a fulfillment of the Scriptual commandment to each Jew to "tell your son", of the Jewish liberation from slavery in Egypt as describe in the Book of Exodus in the Torah. "And thou shalt tell they son in that day, saying :it is because of that which the LORD did for me when I came forth out of Egypt".

A tradition of Passover is to hide the Matzot crackers and for the children to find it, Yabba found todays hidden matzot and won the prize of 50 shekels, thats our girl.

We left around 10 pm and wandered home, unfortunately for us when we arrived home we managed to get the gate open, which wasn't the case this afternoon, and we had to get Kitty to climb over go into the house and buzz us in, tonight we couldn't get in the front door, 40 minutes we were stuck outside, the Landlord was called and eventually we found that Kitty had left her window open, now bearing in mind that the metal shutters were closed, these were eventually pushed out of the way and Kitty and I had to climb through the window, let Itzhak in then, and only then could we open the door from the inside.  Thank the lord for Kitty and her open window.

Happy Passover, and Happy Easter to everyone
