Chocolate Cake

Once again I decided to leave the Little Princes sleeping this morning, this gave me the chance to prepare myself for the day, at least with not going to the beach yesterday I had no towels to get dry, and the sand seems to have cleared up. Kitty had spent much of the night awake due to her itchy scratchy, so she let My Beloved out the gate this morning then went back to bed and slept.

I decided to try the cake thing again, I turned the oven down 20 degrees this time and prepared the mixture, I still had to cover the cake half way through, and decided 40-50mins would be reduced to 30, I made two little muffin sized cakes with the extra mix, and waited.  When the cake came out of the oven I still had to cut off the crust and sides, obviously 20 degrees it not enough, but once mutilated it looked quite good, then I melted the chocolate and covered it, throwing on chocolate chips for good measure.

I hid the cake at the back of the fridge so it would be a supper time surprise for the Little Princes, then I woke them, pancakes were made for breakfast, antihistamines were administered for the itchy scratchy one, and then we headed out to Isfiya to the garden centre, I needed a rake, not the snoop around the shop type, I needed the weed type, the Little Princes shopped for gifts, and then we went to the super market, have I told you I like this supermarket, so much better than the Haifa ones, no stupidly long queues at the till, no mental buyers leaving trolleys at the till to continue shopping, and not just for one item, this is my type of shopping.  We packed our supplies in the car and headed home.

Once all the supplies were in the kitchen we took ourselves to Bruno's for pizza and then the frozen yoghurt and ice cream shop, Kitty and I were frozen Yoghurt, Yabba was ice cream, then we walked home whilst we ate them.

The afternoon was spent snoozing for Kitty, and watering plants and snoozing for myself, we had a very lazy afternoon until My Beloved arrived, then it was time to start feeding the masses again, Mince and Tatties for the Princes and Chilli for My Beloved and myself, then the chocolate cake was bought out of the fridge.

Now the trouble with using cooking chocolate is it sets like rock when you put it in the fridge, and having used a tonne of it, it took my beloved to boil the kettle and heat the knife before we could actually sample the thing, note to self eating chocolate next time.... but the cake tasted lush, and once you could bite through the massive layer of chocolate that tasted not back either.

We spent the evening at home, My Beloved and I watched Mission Impossible (the new one) thanks to Darren, and Yabba watched stuff on her ipad, as did Kitty. Tomorrow is the Little Princes last day in Israel and we have to get them to the airport at stupid o'clock on Saturday morning, neither of us are looking forward to that, and we will be making sure the girls are booked together for the return flight, and at the airport early enough to get booked in.....
