I woke the Little Princes when I returned and gave them breakfast, then chivied them along for getting dressed. Today I attempted Kosher chocolate chip cookies again with my matzot flour, oven set at 150 check, cookies prepared check, now what could possibly go wrong, well you would be surprised, the cookie dough was put on the tray and placed in the oven, 15 minute timer was put on and 6 minutes later I had the smoke billowing from the oven again, I pulled the overly cooked cookies from the oven, I had to cut off the burnt bits, but I have to say the middles were lush. I have now figured out that the recipe is obviously a traditional oven recipe and some adjustments are going to have to be made, but Yabba liked them, I liked them, Kitty is not into nuts so she wasn't so keen.
We left the house and headed for the Crowne to collect tickets for the Flower Show, Gustavo and Hassan were working and I had a quick chat with them before heading down the mountain. The traffic was very heavy along the lower road, and the usual route to the beach was blocked so we headed towards Matam and came in the back way. We parked just outside the Leonardo and walked to the beach just in front of the Hotel, the area is very nice and little lagoons are made from the natural rocks, we found a flat spot and sorted out our seating arrangement, never lay down in between two children, I must remember that, sand travels, as I have found out in the apartment, I took my shorts off yesterday and half Achziv beach landed on my bed room floor, bare feet and crunchy floors not a good combination.
Celia called us after about an hour or so and by this time the Little Princes were hungry, well it had been two hours since they last ate!! We met Celia and walked towards Nirvana where we eventually found a table inside and wifi for the Princes, being Passover there is no bread, but the Little Princes settled on Pizza which was made from Potato flour, I had Hummus and Celia took Chicken, all very nice, we were given a glass of champagne on the house by Shlomee the lovely manager, and we chatted away through our lunch. We then moved outside, the Princes got sun loungers, HOORAY the first time I have found loungers since I arrived, then the Princes threw themselves at the water, Celia and I sat at the restaurant and waited for the boys to arrive. After 4 My Beloved arrived with Darren and just after that Buzz and his boys arrived, Dave, Dave and Mike. One of the Dave's is getting married the end of the month and is flying out tomorrow, the other two aren't and are staying here.
We sat around in Nirvana until quite late on then decided to head home, easier said than done, I took Yabba to my car and My Beloved took Kitty and Darren to his, by the time Yabba and I had got to the car, My Beloved had driven our way and turned around as the traffic getting away from the beach was horrendous, so he followed me home and it took us an hour to get there. We showered and decided to eat at Barbarossa The Alcoholic kitchen, now I think I have explained this before, its Alcoholic because they cook with it, not because its a condition of entry to the facility. We all took Medallions of Beef with tatties and myself and the Princes had dessert, Darren did too but his was Liver pate, obviously not a sweet man. I had a Belgium waffle with ice cream, Yabba took the Creme Brulee and Kitty took the baked cheesecake, all rather lush.
We said our goodbyes to Darren and headed home for some snooze time, but not before sorting the washing out, I think my towels will be rags after this holiday the amount of time I have washed and tumbled them, and thats after they have been dragged around and over every beach in Israel..... :)
As you can tell we never did make the flower show, I would have liked to have seen all the displays but time ran away with us, and lead us astray, but its ok we got stuck in the flower show traffic so I feel we took part in our own very special way.
