This morning was an early start, I woke with My Beloved and then showered, no breakfast as such this morning just an apple from the lounge, I sorted my blog which appears to be back on the correct path, but let's not hold our breath on that.
I phoned Hot today they are one of the Internet, cable and telephone providers out here, I got a very nice lady who explained all the necessary information, unfortunately you need a credit card to set up the account, and you have to have had it for 6 Months, so I mailed My Beloved and he will get David to sort it for us. But how interesting, the internet speed we have opted for is 30Mb, and there is no limit on how much data you can download either. We could have taken the 100mb speed but I thought that was a touch OTT, even for my needs.
I went along to the bank to colect my ATM card, I'm so glad I phoned Sandy before I arrived, I had no identification with me, and didn't know my account number, but Sandy to the rescue, the lady at the till just phoned upstairs and I was given my new ATM card and pin number. Now the ATM card is exactly what it says, we have paid 49 shekels for a card that only allows us to take money out, so now we will have to order another one for paying for stuff, and you know that is gonna cost us loads more shekels. When did you ever need to pay for a bank card to take out your money, odd, very odd. I left the bank with my new card, and my new pin number, but I can't do bugger all with them as need to transfer money in first - doh!
I walked along to the apartment and Itzhak, Nelly and the builder were all insitue, the builder was finishing off the cupboards in the kitchen, making sure everything worked properly, he was also hanging the door front on the dishwasher, Nelly was supervising and Itzhak was putting up the towel rails and toilet roll holders in the bathroom. Nelly finished her supervising and took me to the Penthouse as we have named it for coffee, we sat on the terrace in the sun drinking and chatting, Itzhak followed us up and I gave him a hand to break open his new oven which is being fitted today, they have the same electrical appliances as us, well except for their huge get out of here fridge freezer that is. I took myself back to my apartment after I had finished my second coffee and set about cleaning the patio area, and the entrance to the apartment, scrub - squeegee - polish, and man that back area was dirty, the soil from the garden has been whipped around in the back and made a right old pickle on the tiles, but not any more, they are all shiny and dust free.
I fiddled around and sorted things out and eventually left after 2pm I took myself off to Mandarin for some lunch, the door was opened by one of the lovely waitresses who works there, and she greeted my by saying 'I've missed you', how lovely I have only met her about three times, but she is so friendly and always has a smile on her face, and so now I have a new friend, don't know her name but hey who cares lol. I ate my lunch of Sweet potato soup and was talked into a lovely dessert, now imagine this, a soft gooey mound on a biscuit base covered in golden coconut, mmm mmmmm we couldn't decide what it was called, the waitress even googled it, but to no avail, it was just an mountain of goo surrounded by delicious golden coconut, and I enjoyed every spoonful. I said my goodbyes and headed back to the hotel, Natalie was working and we chatted about Purim and the entertainment that will be on in the Carmel Centre, also about the fact that the roads will be closed, which means My Beloved will have to make alternative arrangements for getting home on Thursday.
It has been such a glorious day today and the sun! well it has been hot, hot, hot - clear skies and sunny days now thats what I'm talking about, the weather is certainly good for My Beloved, he has been struggling a little lately with his hip and the heat will definitely help with his aches and pains.
Back at the hotel my gentleman friend from St. Louis is leaving tomorrow for home, so we chatted and said our goodbyes, such a nice man, My Beloved arrived and we chatted whilst he checked mail, then we headed for the shower, but not before calling Ronan to check on our furniture, delivery date is 16th March and I'm so excited, I can't even remember what the sofa looks like, but I do remember the two chairs, mainly because they were unusual and I loved them so much because they are funky. We decided to eat at Sinta bar, so we took the car and headed up Moriya Ave, after finding a parking space, we discovered that the Sinta bar was closed, so we made a quick call to Natalie, this is her City, she directed us to Kannibar, and said this is where I will get the best Veggie burger in The world, Natalie sent us Kannibar in Hebrew and off we set with the phone in hand and found the Kannibar, I have walked past it many times without realising that it was the bar Natalie kept telling me to go for.
We took out some cash, and went in, the waitress seated us and then came for our order, Veggie burger with Cheese and large Kannibar burger for My Beloved, now when they arrived so did the coleslaw I had taken for a side dish, wow it was the best coleslaw I have ever eaten, it even had a sprinkling of cashews on the top, it wasn't thick and creamy and it wasn't full of vinegar, it was lush. The Veggie burger lived up to its hype, it was like eating a burger without the meat, it wasn't powdery or full of tatties, it was the correct shape, the correct texture and I will be having it again. Its not that I don't like burgers, I just have to eat them without doing too much chewing, just in case I get a piece of gristle, eugh that would make me gip.
We had a lovely meal and then headed to the apartment, My Beloved was chuffed to pieces when we went in because I hadn't told him I had put the Eldest Princes bed together, and it was one of those jobs he wasn't looking forward to, he even managed to tighten some of the screws I had trouble with, and the reason for this was I had used a phillips screwdriver, well I did think it was funny that none of them seemed to fit properly, well thats because its easier with the alan key........... I'm not an engineer why would I know, but hey I had the bed together and safe enough to sleep in, well as long as you didn't wriggle too much.
We had a play with the air conditioning unit, and I think now I know how it works, My Beloved also managed to set the clock on the oven for me, I tried looking up the manual for the oven on google but I couldn't find it anywhere. We left the apartment and headed home, we eventually got into our beds around 00:15, funny how time flys when your having fun.
