Grand Canyon

This morning I woke and showered and blogged all in double quick time, then I headed out of the hotel with no particular plan of action, the Carmel Centre is starting to take shape for the events of Purim, the scaffolding has taken over half of the South bound side of the street, and thus rendering the bus stop useless, I bought a few bits and then decided today would be the day I get to grips with the Grand Canyon, so I jumped on the 23 and off we went, the sun is shining again, but it doesn't feel as warm as yesterday, although that could have been more to do with the hike from the station.

I arrived at the Canyon and first stop Super pharmacy, then I determined that I would hit every shop that the canyon had to offer, I needed new shoes of some description, something that was comfy, great for walking, and wouldn't make my pinky scream, I found a little cafe which sold soup, and I took the vegetable, now this has to be the best soup I have had since leaving Scotland, it reminded me so much of home, I declined the bread unfortunately, but I didn't care once that soup arrived, it was pure Scotland in a bowl.  When I lived in England we never made soup, a tin of Tomato was what we did, and when I moved to Scotland in 1988 I began my soup adventure, there is nothing better on a cold day than a bowl of Lentil soup, or tattie soup or maybe even Cullen skink, emmmm I'm torturing myself now.

I found myself a pair of shoes and I bought them from Clarks would you believe, so now I have new shoes and then it was time to buy some other things I needed. When we got married we were given many vouchers, and lots of pennies, some of my vouchers were from Celebrations and I bought two bed spreads which are wonderful when you have a Beloved who is like a hot water bottle, we couldn't use duvets like most folk because the house was far to hot, and the bed spreads worked really well, I also purchased a beautiful pink tin opener, now I know its gay, but what is worse having a gay tin opener which cost an arm and a leg, or having a tin of Tuna you can't open and it's the only thing in the house to eat!!! I also purchased a beautiful pair of tongs for using when cooking, they were also pink but with a touch of grey, I knew when I bought them I should have given my engineer husband a lesson on how to open them, but I thought no he will work it out, well he did, before we left he wrenched them open breaking them, so today I have bought him a new pair, and he will be getting a lesson on the catch that opens them.

Next stop Lucci's I now have one of their store cards, this gives me discount when I use it, but its not like a Debenhams store card, you pay for your purchases a bit like Boots and collect your discount, well that's how I interpreted what the lady in the store told me anyway. Two lush tops and a vest top later and I'm Archie, I also have a nice pair of almost skinny jeans, now I say almost, because I personally think skinny jeans should be measured by calf size not bum size, I have great arms for skinny jeans, but Calfs!!! you gotta be kidding me. How the hell do you shrink your calfs, having often been called Twins, My Beloved and I shared the same gene pool when the calfs were handed out, even killer heels wouldn't make these calfs look slim or even long.

I hopped on the bus back up to the Carmel centre and walked to the hotel, Lou Lou and I have now shared an app and she can now track me, she sent me a text asking what I was doing in the river, even apple GPS can be a little off track sometimes. I went to the lounge and began setting up todays blog, it sometimes pays to get ahead of things. I caught up on facebook and mail, checked the Bank, that would be the UK bank and not the empty Israeli bank. My Beloved is in Herzliya today, I was going to go through and meet him, but after my escapades on the train yesterday I decided I would give it a miss thank you very much.

Whilst I was on the bus day dreaming I took it into my head that my hair is slightly longer than butch and I should try a new style, which funnily enough is an old style from way back when I used to have hair. So I took my shower and fiddled with the locks, and pulled and teased and pulled some more, I now have almost, not quite, but very near, and only if you squint with one eye, my girly curls back, with a little fringe, and if I say so myself it looks middling to fair. When My Beloved arrived back we decided to eat at Japanika just for a change, and we walked up and were offered a seat at the bar, the Bar Manager bought us a drink on the house, and we ordered our needs. I am really loving the Agedashi tofu, its like a soup with tofu floating in it, and it is so tasty, we had a lovely meal and then wandered back to the hotel, we met in with Wes, and then Andre and Jennifer arrived with Grant, and Pete, Jennifer and I are hoping to get some spa treatments tomorrow whilst the boys are working. We had a nice chat with everyone and then wandered off to our room, I swear to god My Beloved was asleep before his socks hit the floor, he was pushing up ZZZZZZZ's instantly.
