Friday Feeling

I woke with My Beloved and sorted out the washing ready for taking round to the apartment, I set up my blog for the day, and then headed out. The sun is shining again and the apartment was a sun trap, I set the washing machine on 'get me clean mode' and then set about sorting out cupboards and wiping down sides. Once the first load was finished I threw it into the drier, put on the second load and then around 11.30 I decided I needed to eat and Giraffe was on my mind, so I took myself up the street, unfortunately for me Giraffe doesn't open till 12, so I headed for Mandarin had a soda and a facebook catch up until 12.

Sitting in Giraffe at the bar was a great experience, I have never seen Asian food prepared before, and it was interesting watching the chef preparing dishes on what can only be described as a bunsen burner, with a flame thrower attachment. All the necessary spices were lined up in silver bowls and a sprinkle of this and dash of that created quite the dish.  Most of the restaurants in Haifa do delivery service, so the chefs were all beavering away.  I decided on the Lemon Chicken, which when it arrived was displayed beautifully in a deep dish with a wide rim, the sauce came in its own bowl, and the rice was a smooth mound of loveliness. I ate my lunch savouring every morsel, and watched the chefs and waiting staff go about their business.

I headed back to the apartment and removed the washing from the drier and threw the second lot in, whilst I was pottering around  the door bell rang and here was Itzhak and Nelly bringing flowers for the garden, so I helped Nelly put the plants in place, whilst Itzhak watered the trees.  We were all very industrious and the flowers were planted in no time. I ironed the clothes and then helped Nelly clean up the patio area, when Nelly and Itzhak left I decided on a little siesta, so I took down one of the Little Princes duvets and threw it on my bed and took a snooze, I was woken about an hour later with Itzhak at the door, he had bought lamps for the outside lights, so I held the ladder whilst he put them in place. He couldn't understand why I had to hold the ladder, and suggested that if I didn't I would maybe get new neighbours, now considering I haven't moved in yet to get used to the neighbours I have, I told I would hold his ladder.

My Beloved called around 4.30 asking where I was, so he popped around from the hotel, and we collected the washing and headed back, having had a late night the previous evening My Beloved needed a little nap before we took off for the evening. Once we woke we dressed and made ourselves pretty then headed to reception for a taxi.

We met Buzz and Celia in Browns bar and had a quick drink before our reservation in Sinta, Buzz is American and works with My Beloved, Celia is his Brazilian wife, they are staying in the Leonardo on the beach and will be over here for a couple of months. We headed to Sinta and were taken to our table, our waitress for the evening was Mya and she helped us with our choices My Beloved, myself and buzz all took the Fillet Mignon and Celia chose the seafood dish of calamari, shrimp and mussels. Each dish was beautifully presented and Celia was over the moon with her dish, our steaks were so tasty and I had forgotten how much I like steak, we haven't really eaten meat for a while, so Friday night is the beef night.

We finished our meals and headed down the street to Dukes the Irish bar, but they had a private party on that we could join it we wanted, but we would have to pay for the privilege, so we strolled across the road to one of the other Irish bars, and eventually settled on a nice bar with quieter music and seats around the bar.  The waitress was friendly and took our drinks order, turns out one of the other waitresses is Brazilian too, so she and Celia had a chat about Brazil, the young lady had been adopted at one month so although Brazilian her home has always been Israel.

We spent a pleasant evening chatting about anything and everything, then headed home, but not before making a date for Sunday, I will be meeting Celia at her hotel then we are hitting the beach and doing lunch, and later on Celia is going to be cooking for us all, once the boys get back that it.
