Walking My Little Legs Off

So today I was up and breakfasted before I knew myself, once again I had breakfast in The Hotel dining room, I really love the yoghurt and need to attempt to make it when we move out, and move in.

Shabbat Hat
Everyday
Today was the day I try to find the supermarket Natalie has told me about, I set my google GPS and off I toddled down the hill towards the downtown area, walking through the religious area I saw lots of men and women all dressed in black, the men had their hats on and the ladies had their heads covered.

The streets were crazy mainly because most of them were being ripped up, I was dodging buses, and lorries, criss crossing the street, trying to keep to a path, I never did find the supermarket I was looking for which apparently sells all sorts of westernised goods, but I found a few others.

I was then left with a big problem, toilet stop, and no toilets, so I walked back towards the Camelit subway which was forever away, I walked through an area which I believe was the 2nd hand area, because if it was a shop why had they thrown all their wears on the streets, I continued to walk, still looking for my toilet stop, I was getting pretty desperate by this time and the store front which was selling bathrooms was looking more and more appealing, phew I got to the Camelit and there they were, all shiny and with proper male/female pictures, so no wrong turn there. Oh the relief, I continued on my trek and headed towards the German Colony, which sits at the base of the Baha'i Gardens.

I wandered up to Tourist information and got speaking to a lovely lady who gave me a map, unfortunately its the same one I already have, I can't seem to get a proper street map here, and I would like one that has more information about the surrounding areas. I was asked if I wanted to watch a short video on Haifa and I decided yep lets see it.  So I settled myself down and watched the video, I saw lots of things I have not come across yet and when I had finished the lady gave me heaps of information about up and coming events for Passover which is when The Little Princes are over, she also informed me about the buses, well 6.50 Shekels gives you a bus ticket that lasts an hour, which means you can hop on and off the bus for the full hour, the lady also gave me different bus numbers for different areas, and it turns out the 23 I needed to get back up Mt Carmel would actually take me to The Horev Centre and The Grand Canyon should I so wish to go.  Now 6.50 shekels is about £1.10 so I can now buy a ticket and travel around on any bus for an hour hopping on and off as much as I like. The drivers are very good with the English which is great, and they keep me posted when I need to get off.

I decided to take the 23 back up the Mountain, I think it may have been quicker walking, this bus went everywhere, it appeared to me that at one point we did a complete circle, but what do I know, I'm still a tourist. The bus filled up very quickly with school children and the noise level was immense, its not that they were shouting because they weren't, they were chattering away in Hebrew, in English, some where chatting with friends, some where on the phone, the other adults on the bus were the same. Chatter, chatter, chatter, all the way to the top of the hill.

Once I alighted from the bus I had a terrible urge for a frozen yoghurt, the ice-creams and frozen yoghurts are lush and remind me of Venice when I drooled my way around the little streets from one ice-cream shop to another. So I decided on the sugar free yoghurt, now I had to decide on the toppings, I went for strawberries and more yoghurt was then piled atop the strawberries and to finish it off dark chocolate and brandy sauce, which was hot, until it hit the frozen yoghurt and it froze, I had only taken a small one as I have seen these made before and they are huge, so my lovely treat cost 16 shekels and was yummy.
Frozen Yoghurt

After I finished my delightful yoghurt I took myself back to the hotel and sorted out the room for a little, until I could see where everything was should I need it.  My Beloved was later coming home tonight, and we settled on Japanika for our supper, Seared Tuna Tataki was calling and so we ordered it, then we ordered a Salmon combination and finished it with another Tuna Tataki, this stuff is so light we had it for starters and dessert...

Back to the Crowne, its music night tonight and Natalie hounded us into going, we were one of four people there, but we like the lobby bar woman and Natalie joined us for a beer when she finished. We sat and chatted about all sorts and Natalie has told us of more interesting places we need to visit, and has promised to teach me how to make Seared Tuna when we move into our new home, cant wait.
