Bat Galim

Oh deary dear, My Beloved got up for work without me even stirring this morning, I didn't hear him at all. When I eventually got out of bed I felt remarkably well considering the copious amounts of alcohol we had consumed last night. I had even managed once again to cure my blindness with Chardonnay, if you can't remember how you got home, how are you expected to remember to take your contacts out!

I took my breakfast, but not before speaking to My Beloved who was dying, and blaming me for his dilemma, I know I have forgotten the later part of the evening, but one thing I do know is I didn't force the drink down his neck, he managed that all on his own.

So after breakfast, and blogging in the Business lounge I decided that I would visit the beach area around Bat Galim, I mapped my route and decided to walk down towards Stella Maris viewpoint and get the cable car down to the beach. So I packed up my bits and pieces and headed out the hotel. The weather was a little tricky, so I had my hat, my brolly, my sunglasses and my coat, I was covering every eventuality. The walk was all down hill, and it took around 40 mins I think to get to the cable car. I paid my fees and I was flying through the air in no time. The one worrying moment was when the automatic doors forgot they were automatic, and myself and another lady had to push them shut.

On the way down I noticed some lovely kites and when we arrived I decided to investigate them, it turns out they were attached to surfers and they were out to sea, strapped to their kites.

I walked along the promenade and found local fishermen and surfers, the surf wasn't to big, but big enough for them to get a few waves. I watched them for a while, and then decided to try and find the restaurant that Natalie had told me about, I couldn't decide if the restaurant I found myself at was the correct one so I decided to go in anyway. I had no sooner sat down than bowls of salad were delivered to my table, and this without me ordering anything.  I decided on the shrimp, and I settled down to eat my salad and shrimps and read my book.  This all within a stones throw of the sea.

The only dish I actually ordered
I finished my lunch, Im learning to eat slowly, we have noticed that as Brits we eat far to fast, and are learning to slow everything down a bit and really enjoy the food. I left the restaurant and headed towards the German Colony, here I got the 23 back up the hill. I can't decided if its a good thing or a bad thing I have discovered buses, although getting to the top of the Mountain without my head being sweaty and my hair plastered to it is rather nice.

I arrived back at the hotel and decided to get started on my office duties, My Beloved is needing a frequently asked questions leaflet made up for the newbies, so this is my task for the day. My Beloved arrived as I was finishing still looking very grey from his drinking sesh last night, he headed straight for the cooler cabinet for a bit of hairy dog.

We took, ourselves back to the room and My Beloved settled in for a siesta, the neighbours from downtown were complaining because the noise was interfering with their Shabbat celebrations. I gave him a wee nudge, but he groaned and continued on his snoring mission.

I eventually roused him from his slumber, mainly for safety reasons, because had he slept through I know he would have woken around 3 am starving hungry, and you have seen nothing till you have seen My Beloved hungry. We decided to eat at sleek and made ourselves pretty for the evening, we ordered Pâté with Edamame beans and salad and settled for a relaxing evening. We lasted till 9.30 before we both needed our beds and that is where we headed, maybe next time we will have two bottles of vino on a Thursday and not three.

He is there honest
up for air
