I watered the plants and trees and had to cut a branch off the lemon tree as the weight of the lemons had snapped it, the lemons aren't quite ready but they will do for throwing in iced water, or washing the shower glass. My Beloved eventually arrived home sometime before lunch so we sorted out the beach gear and headed for Camel beach, we took a taxi this time, there is no way this late on Shabbat we will get anywhere near the beach to park, and walking from Herzliyya is not an option. Even the taxi got stuck in traffic so we hopped out and walked the last part of the journey.
No sunbeds to be had, so we parked out butts on the sand and so began a pleasant afternoon in the hot Israeli sun, My Beloved was whinging because he was face down in the sand and the sweat was running off is chin, I was ok as I was face up and the sweat was filling my ears, he could whinge to his hearts content because I couldn't hear him. We lunched on Chicken snitzel and Hummus washed down with beer and spritzers, this is the life.
My Beloved was creamed up with factor 34, no way he was gonna burn again, I was on the 15 except for the face which had developed one of those sore cold things, euck what a pain in the lip, but I soothed it with 34 and tried to fill in the panda bear eyes that have been developing from wearing sunglasses 24/7, the Little Princes had found this highly amusing when they were over, I am trying to weigh up which is worse, squinting in the sun, or having panda bear eyes, so I now lie in the sun with my fingers pulling out all the crinkles to try and make sure I don't get white lines in my lines.
Dehydration was setting in so more beer and spritzers were ordered, we had not chosen our bathing spot very well as the foot wash that was around ten feet behind us had developed a leak and we kept having to build dams to divert to water from washing us away, eventually we had to shuffle over and set about the task of shuggling our bodies until the sand beneath us fitted out lumps and bumps.
Our beach, our honeymoon, our way |
Poor Dragos has taken quite a bit of ribbing for sounding like the Count in Seasame Street, his laugh is like him, he kind of looks like him, in a good way, and without the pointy ears, but its all good humoured, and all the vampire jokes are good natured and friendly.
Decisions were made as to where to eat, looks like we are going to Sinta, the boys returned from their swim and Dragos' shoulders are not looking any less red, gonna be a long trip home with sore shoulders, hope he doesn't have a ruck sack, ohh thats gonna hurt.
We left the beach and headed for a taxi back up the mountain, quick snooze before a shower, bad move the bedroom is now covered in sand again, and I can't figure out how we are still eating the stuff, crunchy teeth is really irritating. My Beloved left me to snooze whilst he primed himself for the evenings jolly, then woke me with tea and forced me in the shower.
We taxied to Sinta and were shown to our table and so began another meal of good food, good company and great wine.
