Marina and sandy beaches

This morning My Beloved left for work at the usual time, but today he is dressed in his office attire, 9am and I was collected with our cases and we drove into the sun for a three day trip to Herzliyya, thank you Nobel.

My Beloved dropped me at The Dan Accadia and I stored our bags until it was time for checking in, then it was time to hit the beach, I love weekdays at the beach it is so quiet and I don’t have to fight for a sunbed or a spot in the sun. Cappuccino ordered and I’m set for the day. I still haven’t gotten used to the intensity of the sun here, and even though suncream had been applied before we left I lathered up for fear of ending up like My Beloved two weeks ago.

Around lunch time I ordered Edamame but was once again disappointed that although they appear on the menu of numerous restaurants they never actually have them in stock. So I decided to skip lunch and take a stroll along the beach. Snapping photos as I went, I was then asked by two young guys to take their photo for their facebook message they were sending, that done I meandered along the beach and then up through the gardens to the main road, having only found seriously expensive suncream here, imagine how happy I was to find the same cream at a fraction of the cost, two bottles purchased and a bag of cheese puffs, I have still not found cheese puffs anywhere but Herzliyya, so as a little treat to myself I ate ¾ of the bag and left the rest for My Beloved.

I returned to the  hotel and checked in, upgrade don’t mind if I do, garden room it is then, the room has a mahosive bathroom with a shower room, a toilet and a bath and the obligatory TV in the wall, this room has three TV’s one for the bedroom one for the living room and one in the bathroom, a touch excessive but I’m definitely not complaining.

I sunned myself on our patio area for the rest of the afternoon, and was only disturbed by the phone ringing, our Natalie called to say hi and see how our weekend had been, Natalie had spent her weekend in Tel Aviv at the Crowne Plaza on a jolly holiday with Asaf.

Next stop the gym, 20 interval session on the cross trainer, I did try the bike but it was recumbent and damned uncomfortable. By the time I was finished I was sweatier than a sweaty thing, but happy that I had been, I watched the PT’s putting their clients through their paces, pain in the butt really, because all I wanted to do was correct bad alignment and posture, euck!!

Once I finished in the gym it was back to the room and shower time, now the new suncream is actually an oil, and man was that difficult to get off, especially as I was having to use the hotel freebies as the bag with the toiletries was in the car at the office, I waited for My Beloved to arrive back, and waited, and waited, almost 8pm before he arrived, he would have been ten minutes earlier but the direction thing struck again, and he couldn’t find his way to the room…… I now have him on latitude tracker, so at least if he can’t find me, I will always know where he is!

Looking very weary and bedraggled I didn’t dare let him sit or he would have been out for the count, so we took a leisurely stroll along the water front to the Marina and found a lovely Italian restaurant, the food was lush, I took a dish which was mussels, calamari, king prawn, crab, and baby octopus in a pomodoro sauce with gnocchi, it was amazing, I actually amazed myself by ordering it, but it sounded so nice, and I wasn’t disappointed.  My Beloved ordered a carbonarra, as always when in an Italian he has to order it, I think he is working his way around the world on carbonarra.

We strolled back to the hotel just in time to meet the Big Chief and have a nightcap, so ended another lovely day in gorgeous surroundings, with My Beloved.
