Horses, Dogs, Kids, Angels and Circus Performers

Hooray we found the path that leads to Tel Aviv without having to manoeuvre through the puddles that are inevitable after all the rain we have had this week, just the thought of trying to get along the coast route is enough to make you wear your waders, so today we set off along the motorway, yep the motorway, all be it momentarily as the path runs along side the motorway but there is a couple of seconds where you have to travel the hard shoulder then you lift the bikes over the barrier and your onto safe turf and the path to Tel Aviv, now it's not exactly a path in the full context of the word, but it is an area that is well used by cyclists and walkers, and if you had not seen it from one of those high up buses you would never have known it was there.

I love Shabbat now, why? because the roads are wonderfully quiet, the bus lane becomes the cycle lane, well until you get onto the cycle paths, the cars are noticeable by their absence, now don't get me wrong, there are cars about, but not the usual nose to tail phenomena that usually appears on a trip to Tel Aviv, and the worst traffic you come across is the pedestrians who like the car drivers believe they have a right to walk in and on which ever path they fancy, this includes the cycle path, I was nearly forced off my bike by horses charging after My Beloved said follow me, pffft I think I may go first next time, had dogs with no peripheral vision shunt me as they careered along the footpath, and young children run me off the path as they cycled forwards whilst looking sideways, it's a dangerous hobby this cycling.

I earned my wings today, 1070 cals burned, it only took me three and a bit hours, but it was great fun, well apart from the horses, offt I think I hate them things more than I hate cats, at least a cat won't trample me when I hose it with water, unlike that four legged mange infested thing they call a horse, Sherlock Holmes expressed it well when he was offered a horse to ride "They are dangerous at both ends, and crafty in the middle", agreed.

Catweazle or Jesus???
