Oh Poo Happy Anniversary

Can you believe I actually missed my blogs one year anniversary, where has the time gone, my baby is all grown up.  From Turriff to Israel we have traveled with a few ping pong trips along the way, it's been a blast thinking up things to write and amuse the crazier friends and family members I have, and obviously the not so crazy, although their numbers are very few, we don't know karate, but we know Ka-razy!!!!

So yesterday I decided to try a little HIIT training with a dumbbell it was supposed to be a kettle but the only kettle I have boils water. So I thrashed around the gym with my dumbbell I decided to try my workout tabata style, which meant 20 secs burst of intensive workout then 10 sec rest, but as it was HIIT I did it for 12 minutes instead of the regular 4 mins, HOLY MOLY by the time I finished my last set of double arm swings I knew there was gonna be trouble ahead, I wobbled over to the bike and cooled down and tried to get my shaky muscles under control, this would actually be a first.

I then showered and headed for the Marina and a cappuccino in the sunshine, this would have been great had I received the soya milk cappuccino I had requested and not the milk one I received, offft, do they really think you can't taste the difference, I'm not being fussy it's just that when I drink milk I get flushes, when I drink soya I don't simples.

My Beloved met me back at home and we headed for the gym again, we both now go in twice a day, it's just that My Beloved's first workout starts as a ridiculous time in the morning, and most sensible and dare I say normal people like myself are still sleeping, so he goes in at stupid o'clock and I trudge down sometime after, it's not pretty but it's not stupid o'clock either. Anyways back to the gym we went, me I just did a 30 min bike workout My Beloved tortured himself with a HIIT routine I had made for him, funny I remember a conversation about the fact that I don't put out in the gym the same as he does, that will teach him, he won't be so smug next time, he could hardly get the last few reps out of the last few 20 sec bouts he had to do, I just kept shouting at him from my bike, ops I mean coaching him. The he went for an hour on the treadmill, I never realised you could sweat so much just by walking, lets hope his cunning plan works and his weight drops off as planned.

The trouble with being healthy is the consequences, we are both too knackered to leave the apartment, these days, and not being able to eat all the nice things you get offered where ever you go in Israel it is actually safer to stay home, less temptation.

Ham, Ham, Ham, Ham, Ham........

Bus trip to Tel Aviv

Yesterday I woke and decided after emptying all the travel bags and sorting through the washing I needed a distraction, there is only so much washing you can find amusing, so I thought today is the day I do Tel Aviv, so I headed for the bus stop and stepped onto the magic bus heading to Allenby and the stores.

The journey took around 40 minutes give or take, and as was expected it was very uneventful. I arrived at Allenby and headed up towards the Carmel market, I was actually heading past the market as I was looking for Starbucks, it turns out that Starbucks and Israel had some kind of falling out and they are no more, not that there aren’t plenty or wonderful Israeli coffee shops, I just fancied a Soy Cappuccino from Starbucks. I headed up Rothchild’s Street and found Landwers instead and sat in the sun drinking and reading my iphone newspaper apps, oh how I wish I wasn’t blind with my lenses in, the slightest hint of watery eyes and my lenses swim back and forth like a sailor on a ship, I have even tried not blinking, this just leads to a build up of water and really does nothing for any makeup I may have mistakenly tried to wear.  So my iphone and I now have a love hate relationship, if I wear glasses I love it, if I wear lenses I hate it…..

Next stop Dizengoff center for a quick look around the shops, and it was quick as I still haven’t figured out the shape of the building yet and keep ending up on the outsides before I have actually finished shopping. I strolled down Dizengoff checking out the shops on the way, before I decided on a little late lunch before hopping back on the bus for home.

My Beloved and I arrived home around the same time and hit the gym, we were most disgruntled too find a personal trainer and his client invading our space, but we wore them down and they left. Today is the first time in a very long time I have actually done any pilates, well apart from the stability stuff I have been doing recently that is, do you know I forgot how much like hard work it is, but I stabilised, posturised and primped in front of the mirror, well laying down next to it then, whilst My Beloved strutted his stuff on the running machine, not that he was running as that’s not allowed, should he decide that he will see the surgeon for a check up maybe it will be allowed, but no one and I mean no one, well no one normal would have surgery in the UK and not go back for a check up, enough said.

Supper done, and off to Netanya and the supermarket we went, 7.30pm and the traffic was almost at a standstill, rush hour starts around 3.30 here and finishes anytime after midnight lol. This time I bought a kilo of ham, as buying it any smaller means more trips to the supermarket, My Beloved thought I was mad, but having already eaten at least a quarter of it, and mighty fine it was too – so maybe I’m not so mad as just a very clever little shopper.

Larking around Limassol

So this morning we woke with the sun rise, but opening our eyes was difficult as the room had been so hot overnight they were sticking together.  So I felt my way to the gym and did a 20 min HIIT on the bike, My Beloved followed me down about 10 minutes later as guilt had finally gotten to him and he dragged his weary backside onto the bike opposite, he also decided to do a HIIT as this would be the quickest workout to do, and would get us to the breakfast table ASAP.

After breakfast with Martin and Svenya we had a quick fix on the computers before we all hired bikes and headed to the opposite end of Limassol, we cycled the paths and roads, depending on which ran out first and eventually ended up at the St. Raphael Marina, we sat sipping our drinks over looking the sea.

Eventually we left and cycled the 10km back towards the Crowne Plaza and then onwards to the other end of Limassol to get lunch, and our very last Cold Stone ice cream, it was my turn for the peanut butter chocolate ice cream treat today, although I have to say My Beloved can't see green cheese, so he had to have one too.

We returned our bikes and headed back to The Crowne to pack our bags and ready ourselves for our departure.

We have had a couple of really lovely days, good company, good food, amazing ice cream and sunny days what more could you want.

Limassol, Nicosia and More

We arrived very tired and weary, I really don't function well without sleep, My Beloved on the other hands manages very well.

We arrived at the hotel and met up with Martin and Svenya the boys got started on all things work related and myself and Svenya left for a stroll around Limassol, unfortunately today was the day it started to rain, we managed to get to Cold Stone the ice cream store just as the heavens opened and we took refuge inside with a huge wedge of ice cream cake, I thought I had died and gone to chocolate heaven, Svenya tried to kid me that by taking the fruity variety she was being healthy, but that baby was wrapped in just as many ice cream calories as my chocolate delight.

We eventually decided the rain was not going to stop and our best bet would be a taxi ride back to the hotel, we  found the boys where we had left them and sat with them completely destroying their peace and quiet.

We walked down the road a little and took a late lunch/supper together before we all headed to our rooms, me I took not well with being so tired and slept from around 6.30pm until 8am the next morning.

Nicosia was an odd little place, set up the mountains at the back of beyond, again the rain had followed us, so Svenya and I strolled around the little streets in the drizzle until we found umbrellas to buy for the ridiculous sum of 3 euros. We decided to take a stroll across the Border to the Turkish side of Nicosia, we arrived just as the call to pray was being blasted out of the mosque, and after a quick look around we decided we much preferred the European side of Nicosia and headed back across the border, Nicosia is now the only City in the world to be divided by a border between two countries.

We eventually met in with the boys again and headed for lunch, before heading back to Limassol and the gym, I beasted my backside on the bike, and actually had quite violent thoughts about the gents who were sharing the gym with me, super stud had entered - well he thought he was, first thing he did was check himself out in the mirror, second thing was to remove his t shirt and work out in the skimpiest shorts you have ever see, they actually looked a little like hot pants, he then preceded to strut his stuff on the treadmill, he walked whilst throwing all these punch type moves, but the worst thing he did, and this was what nearly got him punched was he talked to the guy across the other side of the gym who happened to be next to me, for the whole hour I was in the gym he yapped and yapped, I actually had trouble hearing the movie I was watching on my ipad as I cycled, grrrrrrr he irritated me so much that when I had broke the 400 calorie boundary I left the gym and finished my other exercises in the peace of my bedroom.

We spent a lovely evening with Svenya and Martin drinking and chatting in the hotel, aparently we got to bed sometime after midnight, and a long time after Martin and Svenya left, so you can imagine we felt a little bit ropey this morning, but full English breakfast sorted that out.

We left the hotel and headed up towards the port area, and we hired ourselves a bike each, they have the same kind of system here that they have in Tel Aviv, you can pick up a bike at one station and drop it at another, so we cycled around Limassol on our lovely new green bikes, now having a balance issue at the best of times did not make it easy for me when I discovered that if you pedal backwards a brake is applied immediately, I did wonder why there was only one hand brake on the bars, luckily I wasn't going fast when I applied it quite my accident. We had a lovely day exploring all the side streets, eating in the square and being out in the sun, we eventually arrived back at the hotel sometime after 4pm having had the bikes since 11am, we have decided to keep them for tomorrow so they are now tied up to the post outside the Crowne Plaza.

3 Is the new 7

Ok it has been pointed out to me by My Beloved that we have not been on a diet for five days as I first thought.  Sunday to Wednesday is in fact four days, but only if you include Wednesday and seeing as we had a little treat last night I really don't think we can include Wednesday, so really we have only been abstaining since our very last drink and food indulgence late on Saturday, we resumed our feeding frenzy around 8.00pm on Wednesday so technically it is four days, but he reality it is probably only three.

Go us we have such amazing determination, and our strength of character is such that we can manage, very nearly, well almost, and if you stretch a point, almost a week of no drink or food rubbish, three days is the new seven days, therefore a WHOLE WEEK.

We are currently sitting at Ben Gurion airport waiting on our flight to Cyprus, we are off to Limassol for a few days, luckily I remembered my iphone, because I forgot my ruddy camera.......

All diet and No Drink

All diet and no drink makes Jack and very boring boy...
No wonder he is grouchy

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Monday must be time to start the diet then

Why is it when you decide to go on a diet it happens to be the same time your body decides it has not had enough sustenance possibly forever. My Beloved is hitting the cardio hard, and I have to say it's not pretty, he now shuffles as he walks, and being the most nimble of the two of us we now find he his tripping up regularly, this is probably due to his shins being sore from all his hill climb workouts, and being unable to lift his ickle feet.  Personally I don't really care what it is, I'm just happy to be the one that remains upright for a change, I love it.

Last night we decided to take ourselves out to the new cafe restaurant around the corner for a drink, what a lovely place it was, I think I may well have found my local, the waitress kept trying to tempt me with her sweet delights but I held fast and stuck with my coffee and Zero, My Beloved had an americano but both of us then took acid on the way home, this being healthy can be quite painful, I could have been the tomatoes in the chilli I made that did it, offft all I know is it was rather sickening, think I may give tomatoes a miss for a while.

Sunday, Bloody Sunday

I think for as long as I live here I will never get used to Sunday being Monday, I feel cheated every week because the weekend appears to have disappeared overnight. What I need to get used to is the fact that the weekend starts Thursday night, this would be a possibility if My Beloved didn't have to work on Friday, so I think my mission is to party hard on Thursday night stay in bed until Friday night then start all over again, oh yeah and My Beloved will just have to get on with it....... Oh wait a minute thats what happens already, so I just need to get used to Sunday then.

Miss Piggy

This morning we woke to the wind whistling up the side of the hotel, in fact it wasn't whistling, it was howling, thankfully I had asked My Beloved to sort the interconnecting door in our room as every time the wind blew the door rattled.  Now I'm not suggesting we had a room each, we just happened to have an interconnecting door with some random.

Breakfast was taken in the restaurant with Dave and Chris, the place was hooching, and being Shabbat meant no cappuccino, I made do with three coffees of the black variety. The boys finished their gossip and we headed up to finish packing, my Beloved needed to get back to see his sidekick before he left for home, you would think those two were joined at the hip, in fact as I said to Dave in our threesome I'm the odd one out.......(not really chuck)

My Beloved went to work when we got home and I unpacked my beautiful christmas decorations, only two things needed throwing out, one was a glass bauble that didn't make the journey and one was a vine wrap that had gotten mouldy, of all the things to get mouldy, but thank the lord the girls christmas stockings were perfect, as was my christmas moose on skies, my snowman, and my lovely fairy for the top of the tree, and the christmas tree was in perfect condition, I really don't know why My Beloved was worrying!!!!!!!!

I hit the gym and sat on the bike for an hour watching more Bones and then My Beloved arrived home, we watched a little TV before we decided it might be a good idea to eat the pork fillet I had been defrosting, did I happen to mention I love my new oven, the defrost setting is ace.

We watched some Lord Rising, god he was dark! good film shame My Beloved did his usual and had to be sent to bed for falling asleep with a glass of wine in his hand, it's not the mess it would make that caused his punishment it's the thought of wine being wasted........

Ps did I happen to mention we no longer eat christmas cake, this is due to the pair of us having a greedy gene, we have now finished all the christmas cake, and I'm refusing to make another as it will probably go the same way.  I have also to report this was in fact my fault this time, I forced My Beloved to eat cake, a grown man, but little old me forced him kicking and screaming to eat cake pfffftt...........

Overnighter in Haifa

My Beloved managed to finish work around lunch time and we headed off to Haifa for an overnight stay at the Dan Panorama, I have to say the hotel is not a patch on The Crowne Plaza and I don't think I will be rushing to stay there again anytime soon.

We dropped our bags and took a walk around Haifa, and found ourselves at The Crowne, Maor and Sharbel were both working so we got to chat with them, Sharbel was so happy telling us about his new lady, apparently in Arab communities before you become engaged the woman becomes stamped, and he now has his stamp on his lady, can't wait for the engagement party.

We headed back to the hotel and met up with Dave, Chris, Dragos and Kevin for a quick drink and a catch up, then it was time for a shower before heading out to Nelly and Itzhaks for the evening, we spent a lovely evening chatting about so many things, and laughing about so much more, I love seeing these two people they have to be in my top ten of people we have met since arriving in Israel, probably top five.  Nelly made us a lovely puff pastry dessert with cream and strawberries, according to Itzhak she was testing it on us.  We made arrangements to meet up in Tel Aviv with them next week for coffee and said our goodbyes, but not before I was given the keep to the shed downstairs, having lost the last one I could now get my Christmas decorations out and take them to Herzliya and my lovely Christmas tree, Nelly is dying to see my tree when I put it up, she is still disappointed it won't be in the Haifa apartment.

We took our supper at Giraffe and it was heaven, Herzliya Giraffe is not a patch on the Haifa branch, we ate baby back ribs and Chicken fried rice, washed down with the obligatory bottle of wine, obviously......

Mr Greedy and The Butcher

Where in the world can you go into a Butchers and get to share the owners lunch, well only in Israel. Yesterday I need a few bits and bobs, and also some of the lovely ham provided at the Butchers I discovered last week, I made my way over the other side of the motor way to the little area containing the shops I needed.

Now this Butchers is not normal by any sense of the word, well not where I come from anyway, they sell all the usual meats, they sell cold cuts and cheeses, they sell take home ready made dishes, they sell take away coffee and tea, and so much more, but the nicest thing about this place is the owner who yesterday shared his burger with me, home made on the premises and delicious, now as you may or may not know I don't like burgers, mainly because the thought of getting a piece of gristle whilst chewing turns my stomach, in fact just typing about it is making me cowk, so yesterday the lovely gentleman offered me his burger, he cut off the side so it was uncontaminated by himself and I graciously took the offered food, so whilst he sliced my ham I ate his burger, I know My Beloved would have really enjoyed the burger because it was lush, and I think I could even be persuaded to eat a whole one sometime in the future.

My Beloved has now started eating my christmas cake, not the two quarters, but the half I am meant to be saving for Christmas, I think maybe I won't make another one as we will only have the same issue again, Mr Greedy can't get enough of it.

Bond, James Bond

Our evening began with My Beloved turning my stomach with his driving, why do men think a screaming engine is the way to drive a car.... Anyway we arrived without me loosing the contents of my stomach and purchased our food and drink for the film, the entertainment began with the Samsung advert and a dancer on the stage in black out clothes with green fluorescent lights on, it was very entertaining.

Then the film began WOW Daniel Craig never ceases to impress, but the oddest thing was when we kept seeing heads move across the bottom of the screen, you know the type if you have ever watched a pirate movie, it must have happened about 5 times, I thought at one stage it was my eyes playing up.

About half way through the film the lights came on and one of the workers said something in Hebrew, my neighbour in the chairs enlightened me, we were on an intermission. I think I was a small child the last time we had an intermission in the middle of the movie, and at least then you had the ice cream lady, but not this time, I decided to visit the powder room as it was after all a very long film.

The film resumed and we settled down for the rest of the action. This was only marred by the constant chatter along our row, how can you come to a movie and talk all the way through it, poor Jason was sat next to the woman, me I think I may have had to kill her with a rabbit punch to the throat.

The cinema was getting ready for the Twilight movie onslaught, the staff were all in there Twilight t'shirts and the bill boards we of our Pats and the Wolf, I am so looking forward to seeing the film, but Dina and I have decided we will wait until the crowds drop a little.
I did ask if when finished I could get this young mans T shirt

The Brown Hotel

Yesterday I spent two hours of my life watching Bones and pedalling that bike, it and I are becoming quite attached to one another, although I think the friendship is a little one sided as I'm all over that thing, but I don't get complaints and one needs to find ones friendships where one can, Friends with benefits comes to mind.

My Beloved and I met up for a little lunch time romance, well as much romance as you can get with 40-50 other diners in the room.  We ate at Kyoto a sushi/chinese restaurant around the corner from My Beloveds office, Business mens lunch was the order of the day, and let me tell you, it's no wonder these business men get fat, we ate what would equate to a lunch the size of a small obese child, possibly a twin..... But it was lovely, and nice to be out with My hubby through the day.

I left My Beloved to go back to work, took a little trip around the shops in the business area and then headed home. I ordered the Jerusalem Post Ivrit to be delivered, which is the Newspaper in easy Hebrew with explanations apparently so hopefully this will help with the Hebrew reading.

We had a lovely evening as we were heading to Tel Aviv for an InterNations expat event at The Brown Hotel, our taxi driver had a hell of a time finding the place as it was tucked away down a little side road, it was a lovely place, and we arrived on the rooftop bar via the lift to the third floor, we met a lovely guy in the lift called Nir from Israel who introduced himself to us, and we spent a lovely time chatting with him, the roofbar filled up with the expats from all over the world and we chatted to quite a few of them, I met a lovely lady called Anna from Australia, and Ian from London, and Anthony the organiser also from London, there were many nationalities at the event and it was really nice to be out in Tel Aviv. Nir and My Beloved swapped phone numbers as they work quite close to one another so they may meet up for one of those business mens lunch things.

We only left the rooftop when the heavens decided to open on us, so the rest of the expat evenings was spent in the foyer of the hotel.  We said our goodbyes and decided to explore a little of what Tel Aviv had to offer, we found a lovely little wine bar, and an even nicer barman called Tom, and we supped wine whilst eating bread and cheese, My Beloved deciding he now quite likes blue cheeses, myself I really am not very happy with this improvement in his tastebuds, this now means I have to share my smelly cheese with him, is there nothing sacred in this marriage......

One becomes Three

So the cake baked away happily in my lovely new oven for just under three hours before I removed it fully cooked and smelling delicious, I coated it again with alcohol as per instructions and then waited the five mins before removing from the tin, this proved to be more difficult than it should have been, due mainly to the fact that my spring loaded tin had a lip on the base and I couldn't slide the cake onto the board. Considering how much fruit went into the cake it was no wonder it was heavy and proved too heavy and awkward for my small hands, thus I now have three cakes, one half and two quarters, so the half is going away from Christmas and My Beloved and I will work our way through the two quarters over the next couple of days, although having given me a 10/10 for Christmas cake My Beloved might have trouble making it last that long.

Whilst the cake had been baking I took myself of to the gym, the smell of the cake mix travelling all the way down the stairwell to the gym gave me incentive to pedal faster, and I'm still watching Bones whilst pedalling just now, so every now and then I burst out laughing, I really do love that series. So I giggled my way through one hour and forty minutes of Bones before falling into the shower, I really should have left the showering until after I had hoovered and washed the floors as it really is hot work.

Apparently it's winter, Rafael told us this when he informed us the pool is sitting at about 30 degrees now as it is on its winter settings. Lou Lou would love it if she was still here, she would be able to swim everyday again, and I could throw cake at her.

The Bun is in the Oven

Tomorrow the final result, I'm off to the gym now as this baby is gonna take three hours to cook, why is it baking cakes makes you hungry.......

Happy Days and Lazy Sundays

The last few days have passed in a blur, and not all of it drink induced. I met for brunch with my newly acquired young friends whom I met when I had yet another failure on the language front, I have since decided Rosetta is the way to go, she lets me learn at my own pace, doesn't make me feel like an imbecile and above all never, ever tells me I have homework. Anyway getting back to my friends, we have Katharina from Austria a kindergarten teacher who met her partner whilst travelling through India and took a leap of faith and moved to Israel, then we have Annie an Australian who moved here with her employer, Annie is a Personal Assistant and a very switched on lady, last weekend she laid on an event for a birthday which included a fancy dress theme, a photo booth and a dressing up booth, oh and the police arriving to ask for the music to be turned down, apparently in Israel your music must be turned down after 11.30 in residential areas or they WILL confiscate your equipment. Then there is Benjamin a young man in his late twenties from Paris via the USA, we met at the end of my street and headed into CafeCafe we chatted and swapped stories about how we arrived in Israel, what we were going to be doing in the future and why. It was lovely to be out with people who know nothing about oil and gas, well not unless your talking turning on the stove that is. We swapped emails and mobile numbers and finished up promising to meet up again, but maybe next time an evening in Tel Aviv may be the order of the day.

I have now discovered thanks to Annie a lovely butchers shop, a fishmonger and a greengrocer, and the obligatory wine store, all next to some lovely cafes, had Annie never mentioned them I would never have found them, they are tucked away around a corner I would never have explored so I was delighted when Annie and I had chatted about where we shop. Annie on the other hand was hoping to visit the Wine Road My Beloved and I visited last weekend, I hope she managed between the rain showers, as we have had one hell of a weekend of thunder, lightening and rain, don't get me wrong in between all this banging and flashing there was some amazing bursts of sunshine, not good when your sitting at a bus stop in direct sunshine and no sunglasses, it leads to a very odd look on your face.

Today is the day I chop fruit and soak it in alcohol in preparation for baking tomorrow, I am so sad to actually be quite excited about dried fruit, but I've been excited about sadder things so I'm not beating myself up too much.

I am now gyming twice a day, and up to 85 minutes on the bike, I have to do it in two sessions or my bum would be completely numb and I would do that Bridget Jones thing getting off the bike. Today I'm taking it up to 90 mins I just wish it was an upright bike and not recumbent, I really have to force myself to stay on it, I have found that watching Thor on the ipad helps, or the Avengers, well until yesterday when the ipad had complete moment, I had finished Thor and decided to watch Red, this was ok until Bruce started removing tablets from his mouth and walking backwards upstairs to bed, I know that doesn't happen in the film but it happened on my ipad so now I have rebooted and wagged my finger at said ipad and have given it a final warning.
Fingers crossed the ipad behaves

Christmas Cake

So I now have all the ingredients necessary to make my Christmas cake, yesterday I took a trip to Tel Aviv Carmel market and collected most of the things I needed, I then took a spin around the shops before heading home again, 10km thats all it is to Tel Aviv from Herzliya Pituach, oh how I love a City for exploring.

Last night our evening was spent in the Meat bar eating Fillet steak and Cerviche two of my very favourite things, we even managed to find a bottle of Sancerre on the menu, think we could be stopping in more often.

Two trips to the gym yesterday and already one session done today, the body is holding up quite well considering, and the walk around Herzliya Pituach for the last of my ingredients today was almost pleasurable as I had very little pain in the hip, obviously doing the stabilising exercises has helped, and not before time. Walking has always been a pain in the arse for me, even when I was teaching, I could jump around for hours, but walking offft that could be torture.

Hoo, He, Sheli and more

So I'm back to the Hebrew again, I feel I'm getting a small grasp of a very slippery language, but more on the listening side than on the speaking, but it is still only words, a whole sentence would have me running for the Golan Heights and the winery up there. Although having said that wine is the only thing I can order in a full sentence still.

My Beloved and I ate home last night as the next few days are going to be a little hectic with bigwigs and dinner dates, the dinner I made was none to shabby I have to say, fillet steak and butternut squash, we are loving the squash especially as my new oven cooks it evenly and beautifully.

Looks like the Brother in law from the land of the Geordies will be visiting early next year, we are a touch disappointed the whole family aren't coming, but we will make do with Little big Bro, and seeing as he is thinking about coming in February we wont have to carry a sun shade around for his delicate skin......

After dinner My Beloved and I took a walk to the Marina and sat with our soft drinks playing Pentagon, a new game we picked up at the Wine road, I appear to be quite good at it, although I'm sure it wont take long before you know who is far better, Kitty is going to love this game, we are not so sure about Yabba. A quick walk round the supermarket before we headed home and then it was chill time on the sofa for the pair of us. ROCK AND ROLL.......

Bye Bye Lou Lou

So we drove poor Lou to the airport still very unwell but at least the vomiting had abated, and having refused my offer of a Doctor we still had no idea what had caused her condition, but with the inability to speak a the lingo we probably wouldn't have found out anyway.  Maybe next time she comes over she will do us all a favour and not get sick, she is such a needy patient, get me this, get me that, I want chocolate with my chicken soup, the list goes on.  I'm just glad she's gone my ears were bleeding........
So the last few days have been glorious, the sun has been shining and My Beloved and I took a day trip to Zichon Yacob and the wine road, it was a beautiful place Nelly had mentioned when I took Louise to Haifa, so we decided to check it out, the Carmel winery is there but being Shabbat obviously it was closed, not so the shops and cafes on the wine road, she we popped in and out of shoes shops, and nic nak shops and fabric stores and victorian stores, we ate in a little bistro, and listened to the musicians in the street.
We had called the Eldest Prince before entering the wine road as yesterday was her 15th birthday, man she is getting old.....Happy Birthday Yabby love you heaps, we chatted away with both Princes' and they were telling us what they would be doing for birthdays and Guy Fawkes, it all sounds very tiring.
We took a leisurely drive home, and prepared ourselves for our PM entertainment, A Party hosted by Jimmy and Erin and their two lovely children Evamarie and Hank.  The boys walked around for us and we strolled around to Hag'vura street, we found the street ok but had a problem finding the house as the street was never ending and the numbers very peculiar, but we eventually found them all. Evamarie was dressed as Elmo and so adorable, and Hank was dressed as the cowardly lion, but without his head as he had removed it. Our evening began well, but as is usual on our nights out it ended badly, Pete Tong got it wong again, and we are both now recovering from a bad case of too much wine......
