Bus
trip to Tel Aviv
Yesterday
I woke and decided after emptying all the travel bags and sorting through the
washing I needed a distraction, there is only so much washing you can find
amusing, so I thought today is the day I do Tel Aviv, so I headed for the bus
stop and stepped onto the magic bus heading to Allenby and the stores.
The
journey took around 40 minutes give or take, and as was expected it was very
uneventful. I arrived at Allenby and headed up towards the Carmel market, I was
actually heading past the market as I was looking for Starbucks, it turns out
that Starbucks and Israel had some kind of falling out and they are no more,
not that there aren’t plenty or wonderful Israeli coffee shops, I just fancied
a Soy Cappuccino from Starbucks. I headed up Rothchild’s Street and found
Landwers instead and sat in the sun drinking and reading my iphone newspaper
apps, oh how I wish I wasn’t blind with my lenses in, the slightest hint of
watery eyes and my lenses swim back and forth like a sailor on a ship, I have
even tried not blinking, this just leads to a build up of water and really does
nothing for any makeup I may have mistakenly tried to wear. So my iphone and I now have a love hate
relationship, if I wear glasses I love it, if I wear lenses I hate it…..
Next
stop Dizengoff center for a quick look around the shops, and it was quick as I
still haven’t figured out the shape of the building yet and keep ending up on
the outsides before I have actually finished shopping. I strolled down
Dizengoff checking out the shops on the way, before I decided on a little late
lunch before hopping back on the bus for home.
My
Beloved and I arrived home around the same time and hit the gym, we were most
disgruntled too find a personal trainer and his client invading our space, but
we wore them down and they left. Today is the first time in a very long time I
have actually done any pilates, well apart from the stability stuff I have been
doing recently that is, do you know I forgot how much like hard work it is, but
I stabilised, posturised and primped in front of the mirror, well laying down
next to it then, whilst My Beloved strutted his stuff on the running machine,
not that he was running as that’s not allowed, should he decide that he will
see the surgeon for a check up maybe it will be allowed, but no one and I mean
no one, well no one normal would have surgery in the UK and not go back for a
check up, enough said.
Supper
done, and off to Netanya and the supermarket we went, 7.30pm and the traffic
was almost at a standstill, rush hour starts around 3.30 here and finishes
anytime after midnight lol. This time I bought a kilo of ham, as buying it any
smaller means more trips to the supermarket, My Beloved thought I was mad, but
having already eaten at least a quarter of it, and mighty fine it was too – so maybe
I’m not so mad as just a very clever little shopper.
